Position Title: AP Associate (Temporary - 6 Months) Location: Derry Reporting to: Accounts Payable Team Lead (US-based) Salary: £26,000 per annum Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm Friday: 8:00am - 12:00pm Overview We currently have a temporary opportunity for an Accounts Payable (AP) Associate based in Derry to support our US finance team. This position will report to the Accounts Payable Team Lead based in Winston-Salem. The role sits within a larger finance function that covers Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger Accounting, and Trade Compliance. You will primarily support transactional accounts payable processes and customer master data activities. Key Responsibilities Enter vendor invoices into ERP systems, posting to appropriate general ledger accounts. Ensure financial accuracy through strict adherence to accounts payable policies and procedures. Liaise with procurement to ensure timely resolution of blocked invoices and payments made within terms. Investigate and resolve vendor invoices in "blocked" or "parked" status. Prepare monthly accruals in line with established checklists and deadlines. Perform month-end supplier reconciliations and review the GRIR (Goods Received/Invoice Received) account. Organise and manage invoice approval workflows to capture potential discount opportunities. Work collaboratively with US-based accountants to resolve issues such as unpaid vendors, goods receipts, purchase orders, and intercompany transactions. Identify opportunities for process improvement, including root cause analysis of discrepancies and implementation of preventative measures. Manage the setup and maintenance of customer account master data. Assist with special projects and other finance-related tasks as required. Candidate Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of internal and external contacts. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and maintain a high level of accuracy. Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
