An expanding international building services and M&E consultancy with a strong reputation for low-energy and sustainable design is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join its growing Dublin office.
The successful candidate will work across a diverse portfolio of projects including data centres, industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, and construction support.
Produce electrical design drawings, equipment selection, and technical specifications.
Act as a subject matter expert within the electrical engineering team.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
Ensure delivery of high-quality technical solutions in line with project budgets and schedules.
Support bid submissions and client-facing technical discussions.
Liaise with utility providers and manage power supply upgrade requirements.
Attend client meetings, surveys, and project visits as required.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a senior/principal electrical engineering role.
Chartered Engineer status, or progress toward chartership, is advantageous.
Strong electrical building services design experience across LV, MV, and HV systems.
Experience in data centre or mission-critical environments preferred.
Proven capability in:
Electrical topology design
Technical Skills
Proficiency in relevant industry software such as:
Amtech/Trimble
ETAP
ERACS
CDEGS
Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
Personal Attributes
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong organisational and workload prioritisation abilities.
Ability to work effectively to deadlines.
Leadership and team management capability.
Fluent English with eligibility to work in Ireland.
Full Irish driving licence required.
Additional Requirements
Support project delivery in line with internal project management, QA/QC, financial management, and technical review processes.
Experience in consultancy or construction environments is preferred.
Understanding of international business operations within a global consultancy environment.
