Contract Type: Full-Time – Permanent.Our Economics team helps clients across the island with projects in economic and social impact assessments, business case development, policy evaluation, forecasting, strategy and sectoral analysis. We work with a diverse range of clients in housing, transport, tourism, culture, sport, health, utilities regulation, agri-food, construction and regional development, as well as macroeconomic commentary. Suitable applicants will have a passion for economics and good attention to detail, with a relevant undergraduate degree in economics, politics, business, social sciences or related subject with sufficient economic content. Candidates should have 7+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate the following skills:Experience of economic impact assessment, cost benefit analysis, economic modelling, business case development or policy evaluationExperience of managing and delivering economics projects to a very high standardExperience of working in a high performing team, engaging with senior stakeholders and managing staff to deliver on time, whilst maintaining qualityStrong analytical and written skillsStrong personal and communications skills with evidence of working effectively in a team settingExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audienceA keen interest in economic and political issues on the island of IrelandExperience identifying new areas of business development and innovative solutions to complex problem solvingStrong leadership skills, willingness to learn and a positive attitudeAn ability to solve complex problems in a logical and structured mannerAttention to detail, using data to support analysisA strong understanding of MS Office Platform, particularly Excel and PowerPointContributing pro-actively to building a positive team spiritExcellent time management skillsFor this role, it would be advantageous to have:Master’s degree in economics, politics or relevant fieldExperience in the application of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform Public Spending Code or the UK Green Book equivalentExperience in Strategy or Economic consultingSector specialisation e.g., housing, transport, utilities regulation, health, sustainabilityExperience in data analytics and econometricsExperience working with government departments and/or local authoritiesWhat Working At EY OffersWe offer a competitive remuneration package.
