In this role, you will be part of a globally distributed team of software and quality engineers.
The team builds important community facing operating systems that are critical to our product portfolio: ELN and Cent OS Stream, as well as works in the overall Cent OS and RHEL ecosystem.
They work together in an open, transparent, Dev Ops way to provide services for these communities.
You'll work in an open and transparent way, balancing input from external and internal stakeholders to produce the best possible results and meet company objectives.
You will also work with community volunteers to supplement the project's work.

The Senior Software Engineer exercises good judgment and is responsible for working with minimal instruction while making sound decisions to resolve moderately complex technical issues.
This role leads the design, development, and implementation of software components, systems, and sub-features.
Additionally, this role collaborates with cross-functional teams on these deliverables and to improve system performance and functionality.
What you will do* Participate in the full development lifecycle, from design to release, including RPM packaging for Centos Stream and RHEL systems* Communicate and collaborate with developers and teams inside and outside Red Hat including the Cent OS Stream and Fedora communities* Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation* Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, working closely with all stakeholders What you will bring* Experience with Linux administration with a solid understanding of the Linux operating system, RPM Packaging and open source operating systems* Expert-level in Python programming language* Expertise in using Git for version control* Proactive, collaborative team player with effective problem-solving skills* Competence in troubleshooting and debugging complex system issues* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like Ansible and Jenkins* Familiarity with software testing, including unit and integration tests* Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal**About Red Hat**is the world's leading provider of enterprise software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
