The role
The Engine
Young Engineers Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown is looking for enthusiastic and reliable instructors to help inspire the next generation through hands‑on STEM and engineering experiences.
Young Engineers is an international educational organisation operating in over 100 countries, with programmes already running across Dublin and Ireland. Through engaging building activities and engineering challenges, children develop creativity, problem‑solving skills, teamwork, and confidence while having fun.
This is an opportunity to join the founding team bringing Young Engineers to the local community.
As a Young Engineers Instructor, you'll guide children aged 6–12 through engaging engineering challenges and structured building activities that make learning fun, practical, and memorable.
Programmes are delivered in schools, after‑school settings, libraries, community centres, workshops, and holiday camps across Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown.
No engineering background is required. Full training, curriculum, and materials will be provided.

The Motors
We're looking for people who help bring the programme to life.
You don't need to be an engineer, but an interest in STEM, science, engineering, technology, or scientific thinking is important.
We're looking for individuals who are:
Reliable and professional
Energetic and enthusiastic
Comfortable working with children
Organised and punctual
Curious and eager to learn

Anyone with experience working with children

Access to transport, as programmes are delivered across multiple locations in Dún Laoghaire‑Rathdown
Garda Vetting is essential for this role, as programmes are delivered in schools and educational settings.
The Mindset
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
Eligibility to work in Ireland
Availability during after‑school hours and school holidays
Willingness to complete Garda Vetting
