About the Position
The EY Ireland Legal team, headquartered at Harcourt Centre, Harcourt Street, Dublin, is part of a larger General Counsel’s Office shared with UK and Ireland. The team provides legal advice and guidance across EY’s business in Ireland and supports a high‑performing, ambitious in‑house legal group.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial:
* Advise on, draft and negotiate client contracts including engagement agreements, Master Services Agreements, Global Framework Agreements and other complex contractual arrangements.
* Technology, software and licensing agreements.
* Intellectual property matters.
* Subcontracts where EY is subcontractor.
* Collaboration agreements.
* Managed services and outsourcing agreements.
* Government and public sector agreements.
* Tenders and RFP responses.
* Contracts with suppliers.
Regulatory:
* Data privacy, AI, DORA and other regulatory matters.
General:
* Provide legal advice to service lines and internal support functions such as real estate, procurement, finance, HR, IT, knowledge and marketing.
* Deliver training and guidance on legal and contractual issues.
* Develop contract templates, policies and guidance.
* Lead firm‑wide projects and serve as legal lead where appropriate.
Experience and Qualifications
* Excellent academic record.
* Strong team player with excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Enthusiastic, positive and self‑starter who manages deadlines and builds trust‑based relationships.
* Demonstrated commitment to high‑performance team values: focus on results, accountability, healthy conflict, trust building.
* Calm under pressure and adept at handling conflicting and changing deadlines.
* Ability to lead, take responsibility and make well‑substantiated decisions.
* Commercial awareness of business issues, coupled with the ability to advise on new service offerings.
* Practice law in Ireland – a requirement; the firm will cover practicing certificate costs.
* Approx. 5+ years of post‑qualification experience, either in a reputable law firm or in‑house, with proven ability to provide practical legal advice in a fast‑paced environment.
