We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.Consultant Haematologist – Royal Alexandra Hospital, PaisleyThis is a permanent post based within the Clyde Sector. It supports laboratory and clinical services across the Clyde region, with a focus at Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), Paisley, and support to Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH), Greenock and Vale of Leven.Shift PatternMonday to Friday.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical and laboratory services for day case, outpatient, inpatient, consultative commitments.Develop and enhance Clinical & Laboratory Haematology services for GG&C.Lead and develop a special interest aligned with service needs.Collaborate with a team of consultants across busy hospitals in the Clyde region.Qualifications & ExperienceAppropriately experienced and qualified in Haematology.Fully registered with the GMC, licence to practice.Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or eligibility for CESR, or within 6 months of confirmed entry.Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.Contact for Informal DiscussionDr Caroline Sweeney - Clyde Sector Lead, Consultant Haematologistcaroline.sweeney@nhs.scotInterview Date13/05/2026Equality, Diversity & Inclusion StatementNHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde encourages applications from all sections of the community, promotes equality, diversity and inclusion, and welcomes applicants from the Armed Forces Community.
