Parker Stewart are working with a well known Public, Civil Engineering, Building & Private specialist contractor to hire a Health and Safety Officer. This position will primarily be onsite at the Cork location, and there may be travel requirements to other sites in Limerick & Kilkenny.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Carry out daily site inspections and audits to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and promote safe work practices
* Assist in developing and implementing site-specific Safety Statements, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future risks
* Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization by promoting open communication and proactive risk management
* Provide expert guidance and advice to project teams on EHS matters, including the selection and implementation of appropriate control measures
Experience & Qualifications Required:
* Strong experience in a Health & Safety role within the civil engineering or construction industry
* Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture on site
* Strong working knowledge of Irish Safety, Health and Welfare at Work legislation and Construction Regulations
* Recognized Health & Safety qualification
