The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – Southern Region is a major voluntary organisation providing residential, educational, and day services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism, and communication disorders throughout Cork and Kerry.

Social Care Manager 1 / Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) GRADE
Permanent Full-Time (39/37.5 hours per week)
Location: Adults Residential Services, Cork City/suburbs
The Purpose
The post holder will ensure person-centred support respecting the rights of each individual, working collaboratively with families, key workers, advocates, and staff to ensure a meaningful quality of life, community integration, and high-quality service delivery.
The appointed person shall uphold the organisation’s core values, ensure compliance with policies, legislation including the Health Act 2007 and HIQA regulations, and may assume the duties of Person in Charge for a designated centre.
The normal working hours are 37.5/39 hours per week, with flexibility required including weekends, evenings, and sleepovers.
Responsibilities include managing the designated centre(s), ensuring service ethos and individual needs are met, within policies and procedures.
Reporting to: Area Manager or other designated person.
Professional Qualifications and Experience:
* Possess a level 7+ in Social Care plus a level 8 in health/management-related qualification (QQI), OR
* Possess a nursing qualification plus a level 8 in health/management-related qualification (QQI), OR
* Equivalent qualification recognized by the Social Care Worker Registration Board, CORU.
Must be eligible for registration with CORU from November 2023, obtain registration by November 2025, and maintain it throughout employment.
* For nurses, maintain current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviour, with at least 2 years in management or supervision.
Relevant management qualification or working towards one; postgraduate training in Positive Behaviour Support is desirable.
Flexibility, excellent communication, experience with alternative communication methods, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and information systems are essential.
* Driving license valid for manual transmission vehicles is required.
Additional requirements: Good health, good character, and ability to undertake the duties of the role.
Hours of work: As specified, with flexibility for additional hours as needed, compensated according to policy.
Salary Scale: Social Care Manager 1: €55,793 - €65,155; CNM1: €56,081 - €66,045 (as of 1/3/25).
