Role OverviewProvide critical 24‑hour short‑term residential services for adult men and women experiencing homelessness, working to secure long‑term housing and ensuring sustainability for each client. Methods are aligned with the DRHE Pathways Model and involve close collaboration with care planning and case‑management teams.
Core Responsibilities
Implement the case management system and engage in one‑to‑one work with an allocated caseload from referral to disengagement, including HNA assessment, development and updating of support plans, and use of the PASS system.
Advocate on behalf of clients, arrange meetings, link clients to services, and assist each client in finding long‑term housing.
Build professional, trusting relationships with individual service users, treating them with dignity and respect and working within the values of Crosscare.
Support residents in establishing tenancies by identifying suitable properties, searching press and online listings, contacting landlords and agencies, arranging viewings, and negotiating with landlords.
Help residents complete Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) paperwork and understand tenancy agreements, rents, and conditions.
Accompany residents to tenancy signing and refer them to tenancy sustenance programmes such as CLAN, SLI, HAIL, etc.
Carry out all duties connected with residential service operation: resolve conflict, respond to health issues, manage premises, take referrals, welcome and engage residents.
Liaise with and advocate to external service providers and internal teams.
Work effectively as part of a team, responding to reasonable requests from the Project Leader/Deputy to ensure effective relationships and resident support.
Adhere to Crosscare policies, standard operating procedures, and the quality agenda, contributing to consistent service delivery.
Perform administrative duties related to the role, ensuring smooth project operation.
Observe all health and safety policies, and maintain building security day and night.
Safety & Physical DemandsAbility to perform physically demanding tasks, including use of stairways, provide first aid and CPR, and administer life‑saving medication such as naloxone.
Essential Requirements
At least 1 year of relevant employment working with a similar client group (internal candidates: 6 months).
Experience in homeless, addiction, residential services, community or youth work sectors.

Qualifications Required
Option 1: BA Degree in Applied Social Care, Addiction, Mental Health, Nursing, Psychology, or an equivalent Level 7 qualification under the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) / QQI.
Option 2: Minimum Level 6 qualification in Social Care or Addiction under the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) / QQI.
