A.W. Ennis Ltd. is a leading manufacturer with a long-established reputation for producing high-quality animal feeds. Based outside Virginia, Co. Cavan, our facilities supply feed products for a wide range of farm livestock across the island of Ireland.
As part of our continued growth and investment in the business, we are now seeking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team.
The Role
Reporting to the Company Accountant and working closely with the wider finance team, the successful candidate will gain exposure to all aspects of the business while supporting day-to-day accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive understanding of all areas of the business
Accounts Payable
* Processing purchase contracts
* Product receipting and supplier account management
* Maintenance of purchase price schedules
Working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP system)
Supporting the finance team with administrative duties and ad hoc projects
Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers as required
The Ideal Candidate
Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
Relevant qualification (e.g. ATI or part-qualified accountant) desirable but not essential where relevant experience exists
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Experience using accounting/ERP systems (D365 experience an advantage)
Strong Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to learn and develop
