OverviewBoard Member with Finance Experience — We are seeking a board member with financial knowledge or experience (accounting, finance, budgeting, auditing, or financial management). The finance member will assist the board in ensuring the organization is financially viable and that accurate and complete financial records are maintained.ResponsibilitiesSupport oversight of financial planning and budgeting.Assist the board in understanding financial reports and risks.Contribute to sustainability and good financial governance.Provide strategic financial oversight, review financial statements, and advise on budgetary decisions.Collaborate with other board members to shape financial policies, assess risk, and contribute to overall governance and success of the organization.QualificationsExperience in accounting, finance, budgeting, auditing, or financial management; ability to understand financial reports and risks; strong governance mindset and willingness to contribute to board discussions.Time CommitmentApproximately 6 board meetings per year. Meetings last around 2 hours. Attendance can be in person or via Teams. Participate in one or more committees.
