Job Description:
Medfit Healthcare is Ireland's only Medical Exercise, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation facility. Our team of physiotherapists, clinical exercise physiologists, athletic therapists and sport scientists form a multi disciplinary team. We specialise in rehabilitation for the treatment of musculoskeletal injury, or for individuals with chronic disease and prescription of exercise to older adults whose wish to improve their quality of life and function.
The successful candidate will have a passion for human health and performance, experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and experience working with individuals with chronic disease. A strong understanding of the underpinning principles of strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, evidence-based practice and a range of coaching experience is desirable. An ability to work well with others, excellent communication skills, a can-do attitude, an ability to follow instructions and a desire to learn are required.
* A bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, athletic therapy, strength & conditioning is required.
* A master's degree in exercise physiology, exercise science, athletic therapy, strength & conditioning is desirable.
* Certification with NSCA, ACSM, BACPR, UKSCA is desirable.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Clinical Lead and Operations Lead the exercise physiologist will be upskilled in patient management within the Medfit Medical Exercise System. The exercise physiologist will be required to supervise a medical exercise gym to ensure clients are exercising in a safe manner in accordance with their exercise prescription. The exercise physiologist will be expected to take a patient case load and manage the pathway of patients under the supervision of the leads.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform assessments, including VO2 max and RMR tests
2. Supervision of medical exercise gym
3. Patient bookings
4. Management of patient case load
5. Ensure facility remains clean and organised
6. Open and close facility
7. Assist in the implementation of research studies
8. Data analytics to evaluate treatment efficacies
9. Perform job with professionalism and in line with the Medfit philosophy and core values
10. Run exercise classes
11. Assist mentoring with Medfit's intern program
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent communication skills.
A knowledge and understanding of coaching, strength & conditioning, exercise physiology and injury rehabilitation
Experience performing and interpreting cardiopulmonary exercise tests in clinical and athletic populations
Experience prescribing exercise
Experience working with a special population (cardiac, older adults, cancer, diabetes, chronic pain etc.)
Strong people management skills.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Good organisational skills.
Good time management and presentation skills.
Personal qualities desirable – energy and enthusiasm, professional rapport with staff, flexibility/adaptability and diplomacy.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
BSc. Exercise Physiology, Strength & Conditioning, Athletic Therapy (or similar) First Aid Certified, Cardiac first responder (AED) Certified.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
MSc., Massage qualification, CSCS, ACSM EP-C, BACPR PIV, UKSCA (or similar)
