Job Title: Medical Specialist
The microbiology laboratory plays a pivotal role in examining a diverse range of specimens for bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic infections.
The laboratory is part of the hospital's infection prevention and control committee and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
Responsibilities:
* Have experience in molecular diagnostics and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
* Verify and validate test methods to ensure accuracy and reliability.
* Oversee all technical and scientific aspects of the department's work.
* Contribute to ensuring the quality management system meets ISO standards.
Requirements:
* A postgraduate degree in medical laboratory science is required.
* Eligibility for fellowship of The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine is essential.
* Registration with CORU as a medical scientist is mandatory.
* A minimum of four years' experience in a medical laboratory post-qualification is necessary.
