Role Description
A leading organization is seeking an End User Computing (EUC) Engineer with extensive knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem, including both on-premises and cloud services. The EUC Engineer will be responsible for engineering and operating Windows workstations, automating tasks, and managing patching and vulnerabilities. The role provides opportunities to participate in modern workplace initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Applicants should be experienced in managing and optimizing Microsoft Intune and SCCM/MECM, ensuring seamless deployment and management of devices, applications, and security policies.
This role reports to the Executive Director of the Distributed Systems function.
Role Objectives
This role requires comprehensive expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem, encompassing both on-premises and cloud services. Key responsibilities include:
* Management of Hybrid-Joined and Entra ID-joined Windows workstation endpoints, including build processes, security patching, and vulnerability management.
* Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft 365 (M365) and Office 365 (O365) suites.
* Configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Intune policies for Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM).
* Experience with co-management (Intune + SCCM/MECM) as part of a modern device management transformation.
* Strong experience with Windows Autopilot as a modern OS deployment solution, including end-to-end provisioning processes through Microsoft Intune (imaging, software deployment, and patching).
* Experience managing Microsoft SCCM/MECM environments.
* Collaboration with IT and security teams to implement and enforce device security policies and compliance standards.
* Proficiency in automation using PowerShell or equivalent development skills, with experience using source-control tools for scripts and configurations (e.g., Git, GitHub).
* Management of application, update, and configuration deployments to end-user devices using SCCM and Intune.
* Troubleshooting and resolution of Intune and SCCM deployment issues to ensure a positive user experience.
* Ongoing evaluation of Intune updates and new features, with recommendations for adoption.
* Collaboration with other IT administrators to integrate Intune with additional systems and tools.
* Monitoring and reporting on the health and performance of the Intune environment.
* Provision of Level 3 support and advanced troubleshooting.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
* Relevant technical certifications.
* 5-7 years of experience in infrastructure or end-user support roles.
* Proven experience as a Microsoft Intune Administrator or in a similar role.
* In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Intune features, policies, and best practices.
* Familiarity with mobile device platforms, including iOS and Android.
* Strong experience with SCCM/MECM.
* Experience with JAMF and Mac device management.
* Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
* Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently.
* Experience with Microsoft workstation patching, vulnerability management, and troubleshooting.
* Participation in on-call rotations and provision of third-level support for Windows platform infrastructure.
* Ability to document processes, requirements, and create test plans.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Self-motivated, disciplined approach to learning and delivery.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate leadership when required.
* High level of personal accountability, strong follow-through, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and goals effectively.
