Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtechPosition OverviewThe Inventory Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory control procedures across multiple Distribution Centre’s (DCs) within the EMEA region. This role ensures inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and system integrity through proactive cycle count management, SAP IDOC/EDI resolution, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position also plays a critical role in supporting product availability, quality compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Control & OptimizationDevise and implement inventory control procedures across 3PL-operated sites to ensure accuracy and complianceOversee monthly cycle counts, analyse variances, and report findings to senior managementLead daily, weekly, and monthly inventory synchronization activities across the regionResolve SAP IDOC/EDI errors in collaboration with IT and BPX teams to maintain data integritySupervise internal inventory movements within DCs and manage replenishment processesInbound & Operational OversightManage dock-to-stock operations, ensuring all inbound inventory is received and processed within agreed KPIsAct as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for inventory-related challenges, supporting day-to-day operationsPartner with supply planning to monitor safety stock levels and product availability to ensure robust supply continuitySupport OTIF-D (On-Time In-Full Delivery) performance and lead operational process improvementsNew Product Introduction (NPI) & System EnhancementsEnsure DC readiness for NPI launches, including system setup, inventory availability, and process alignmentParticipate in cross-functional projects and lead system enhancement initiatives and change requestsInventory Health & SLOB ManagementLead short-dated inventory monitoring and coordinate mitigation strategies with commercial teamsSupport SLOB (Slow-Moving and Obsolete) reviews and drive reduction initiativesManage inventory write-offs in accordance with financial and operational policiesInventory OversightOversee inventory control processes, ensuring compliance with handling and storage protocolsMonitor SV product shelf-life and coordinate short-dated stock actions with commercial and quality teamsEnsure inventory is accurately tracked and synchronized across systems and DCsSupport NPI launches and quality release processes in collaboration with Commercial QualitySOP Governance & ComplianceManage issuance, maintenance, and compliance of SOPs related to inventory management across EMEAConduct regular reviews and updates to ensure alignment with operational changes and audit requirementsQuality Control & Regulatory SupportCollaborate with Commercial Quality teams to manage inventory release/hold controls, including COAs, product damages, and non-conformancesSupport CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes and ensure timely resolution of quality issuesQualifications & SkillsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in inventory management within a 3PL or multi-site distribution environmentStrong experience with SAP (MM/WM/EWM modules), IDOC/EDI processes, and inventory reconciliationSkills & CompetenciesProficient in LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement practicesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and stakeholder management across regional teamsAbility to lead cross-functional projects and drive operational excellenceFamiliarity with regulatory compliance, quality systems, and inventory audit protocolsKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Inventory accuracy rateCycle count completion and variance resolutionDock-to-stock turnaround timeSLOB reduction and write-off controlOTIF-D performanceIDOC/EDI error resolution rateSOP compliance and audit readinessInventory accuracy and compliancePlease note that this role is available across multiple countries and may be posted under different requisition numbers to comply with local requirements.
