We are seeking an
EHS Specialist
with a strong electrical background to support EHS activities on a large, fast-paced client site in Cork.
This will be a 12 month position with potential for extension.
This role will work closely with site operations, engineering, and contractor teams to ensure electrical and general safety standards are consistently met, risks are identified early, and compliance requirements are upheld.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation and day-to-day execution of EHS policies and procedures on the client site
Act as the EHS point of contact for electrical works and electrically related activities
Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses, and method statement reviews, particularly for electrical scopes
Perform site inspections, audits, and safety walks, identifying hazards and driving corrective actions
Support permit-to-work systems, including LOTO and electrical permits
Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions
Deliver or support toolbox talks and safety briefings
Liaise with contractors, supervisors, and client representatives to promote a strong safety culture
Maintain accurate EHS documentation and reporting in line with site and client requirements
Requirements
2–3 years' experience in an EHS / Safety Specialist role
Electrical background (e.g. trade-qualified electrician, electrical engineering technician, or equivalent practical experience)
Hands-on experience working in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or data centre environments
Solid understanding of electrical safety principles, including isolation, LOTO, and high/low voltage risks
Experience working on client sites and within contractor-heavy environments
Qualifications
Electrical Trade Qualification or Electrical Engineer (minimum electrical trade required)
EHS qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, QQI level 8, or similar 2-3 years experience in an EHS Specialist Role.
Safe Pass
Manual Handling, Working at Heights, LOTO training (or willingness to complete)
