My client is a proactive, market-leading organisation seeking a motivated individual to join their import/export team. Working closely with the Ocean Freight Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods while delivering exceptional customer service.
Initially, your focus will be on engaging with customers and managing essential documentation, providing a strong foundation for growth into specialised freight forwarding responsibilities. While a background in customs is advantageous, it is not essential.
The Role:
1. Manage customer bookings and confirm arrangements.
2. Organise efficient routing and tracking of containers across European ports.
3. Communicate delivery and collection requirements with customers.
4. Complete invoicing and credit control tasks accurately.
5. Prepare and submit customs entries when required.
6. Monitor schedules, address delays, and provide timely updates to clients.
7. Issue Bill of Lading instructions and ensure documentation is completed before deadlines.
8. Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm.
The Person:
1. Experience within logistics, transport, or freight forwarding.
2. Background in air, ocean, or road freight is beneficial.
3. Good customer service skills are essential.
4. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
5. Comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
6. Enjoys working collaboratively in a team environment.
