About the Role:
We are working with a prominent Public Body who are seeking an experienced and proactive Procurement and Equipping Lead to manage the equipping strategy for an upcoming major public infrastructure programme. The role will involve close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the successful specification, procurement, and delivery of all clinical and non-clinical equipment required for operational readiness.
The overall programme is expected to run for approximately 6 years, offering strong continuity prospects for the right candidate. The role is being offered on a contract basis, with great potential for longevity over this 6 year period.

Key Responsibilities:
9. Lead the development and implementation of the equipping strategy for the programme in line with project timelines and requirements.
10. Work with departmental commissioning leads to identify and define equipment specifications.
11. Manage procurement processes for equipment, ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations.
12. Drive value-for-money solutions and seek cost-saving opportunities wherever feasible.
13. Align equipment procurement and commissioning plans across all workstreams.
14. Coordinate readiness assessments and support decision-making for commissioning and operational transition.
15. Maintain the Procurement Project Management System (PPMS) and ensure accurate and timely updates.
16. Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies (RAID) within the equipping scope.
17. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth delivery of the equipping workstream.
Requirements:
18. A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
19. Experience using eTenders
20. Proven experience managing equipment procurement and commissioning in complex capital projects.
21. Strong understanding of public procurement policies and procedures in Ireland.
22. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing large procurement cycles.
Desirable:
23. A professional project management qualification (PRINCE2, CAPM, or equivalent).
24. Experience working for a public body in a similar role
25. Excellent organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
26. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with procurement or project tracking systems.
