Job Description
We are LightHOUSE Studio, located at St Kieran’s Col, Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny, R95 Y99T. We are looking for an experienced Builds and Rigging Lead Artist to work alongside the Rigging Supervisor on either of our upcoming productions.
First production dates: Start date 3rd February 2026, contract ending 30th October 2026. Second production dates: Start date 30th March 2026, contract ending 4th September 2026.
The production is classified 16+. Applicants must be comfortable working on a 16+ show. The role can be performed from our Kilkenny studio or remotely within the Republic of Ireland.
About the role
The builds & rigging lead will play an important part in building and rigging main and secondary characters, props, and environmental elements using Toon Boom Harmony. The role also includes supporting and leading the builds and rigging team alongside the Rigging Supervisor.
What you'll be doing
Work closely with the series director, animation director, and technical supervisor to deliver the rigging assets for the show.
Ensure all assets match the designs and are suitable for animation in Toon Boom Harmony.
Deliver rigs according to deadlines and delivery requirements.
Report progress to the immediate supervisor.
Manage a team of rigging artists and assign rigging tasks.
Manage ticketed tasks and assign them to the team accordingly.
Work on rigs and other departmental tasks when required.
Perform weekly assignment briefs for riggers to ensure weekly work is communicated.
Communicate any problems or issues that may arise to the rigging supervisor.
What we're looking for
3+ years of experience as a builds and rigging lead.
Expert knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony software version 20+.
Problem‑solving skills.
Strong drawing skills.
Great attention to detail.
