Flood and Coastal Risk Officer
Job Overview:
This role is focused on managing flood and coastal risks across various sectors as assigned.
The duties and responsibilities are determined by the department to which successful candidates are assigned.
Main Responsibilities:
* Managing, advising on, and undertaking flood and coastal risk management projects and programmes.
* Leading and directing a team of project managers, overseeing human resources, budgets, and other essential assets.
* Procuring and managing external service providers, including contract development, assessment, and monitoring for optimal value and service delivery.
* Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote effective service delivery.
* Maintaining compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
* Assisting in maintaining and developing operational management systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A degree at minimum Level 8 (honours bachelor's degree) or NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications equivalent in Civil Engineering, Geography, or Geoscience.
* A minimum of four years relevant post-qualification experience in areas such as flood risk assessment and management, hydrology, hydrometric data collection, and processing.
