OverviewAssociate Legal Director, Northern Europe. The role supports the Global Legal team and activities in Northern Europe, with the Northern Europe country market group (CMG) comprising the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Poland, Czech, Middle East, Greece and South Africa. The position is based in the UK or Ireland and offered remotely with occasional travel within Europe and overseas.Reporting to the Legal Director EMEA Commercial, you will be a senior member of the European Legal Team, overseeing ongoing legal affairs and ensuring adherence to the organization’s legal standards across Northern Europe and, where appropriate, Europe.The Legal Team supports operations, governance, and provides education on relevant laws and practice, including compliance, privacy, IP and technology, and dispute resolution.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze regional legal and corporate risk; provide alternatives and recommendations, including external party transactions and extraordinary correspondence.Draft and negotiate major contracts (purchasing, sales, and leased properties) within the Northern Europe CMG and, secondarily, the European region.Provide ad hoc legal advice on internal processes and projects for Northern Europe and some European business groups (including Sales, eCommerce, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Marketing, Privacy, SAAS, Medical Affairs and IT).Provide timely legal guidance on commercial legal affairs in Northern Europe and the wider European business.Advise on compliance matters, including GDPR, European competition laws, and laws related to medical affairs and devices.Educate and raise awareness among client groups on relevant laws and practices.Advise Human Resources on employment law matters.Provide litigation support as required; manage a legal budget and outside counsel.Attend to special projects as assigned.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceDegree in law with current license to practice, preferably in the UK.Significant legal experience with proven leadership in a law firm or publicly-traded company.Fluent English (written and spoken).Additional qualification or experience in technology organizations and/or life sciences with a focus on digital healthcare is desirable.Additional informationAt Resmed, employees may be eligible for a bonus plan, with the percentage depending on position.Working from home flexibility.Access to referral bonus and Resmed's preferred shareholding programme.Competitive benefits (Pension, Long-Term Illness Protection, Health Insurance, etc.).Internal career opportunities in an international, fast-growing company.Resmed is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
