Job Opportunity: Senior Ecologist
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to join our team and contribute to water projects across Ireland.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of hydrology and water quality, as well as the relationships between these elements. Experience in statistics and/or modeling, manipulating ecological data, is advantageous.
The successful candidate will understand the freshwater ecological aspects of ecological status as defined by the Water Framework Directive and be able to improve aquatic ecology in line with WFD objectives for 'good status'.
Understanding the impacts from agriculture, wastewater treatment, abstractions, discharges, and impoundments on Ireland's freshwater ecology is essential.
Aquatic assessment metrics such as Q and SSRS scoring systems, riverine diatoms, macro and micro-algae, macrophytes, and fisheries, especially salmonids, would be beneficial.
Requirements:
* Educated to at least Degree level (Level 8/9).
* Relevant work experience, including in a consultancy environment.
* Chartered Scientist, Environmentalist, or Ecologist.
* Experience in business development and client engagement.
* Proposal and tender writing experience, with success in winning and delivering projects.
* Fully qualified driver's license.
