Overview
The Applications Development Group Manager – SVP role at Citi is a senior management position responsible for accomplishing results through managing a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The objective is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities, with dual leadership that combines deep technical oversight and site leadership within the Dublin technology hub.
Responsibilities
* Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring, disciplinary actions).
* Provide strategic influence and control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results.
* Utilize in-depth knowledge of applications development with basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues.
* Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards.
* Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with the overall technology function to achieve established goals.
* Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations.
* Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, and communicate with external parties as necessary.
* Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, drive compliance with applicable laws and regulations, safeguard Citi and its clients and assets, escalate and manage control issues with transparency, supervise activity, and create accountability.
Qualifications
* Experience in applications development.
* Experience in management.
* Experience managing global technology teams.
* Working knowledge of industry practices and standards.
* Strong written and verbal communication.
* Strong core Java knowledge with Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate); RESTful web services.
* Unix and scripting skills (Korn shell).
* SQL Server experience.
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools – Maven, TeamCity, uDeploy.
* Knowledge of version control systems – Git.
* Experience in the Financial Services industry preferred.
Education
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
* Master’s degree preferred.
