The Project Manager will be responsible for co-ordinating the activities for the Funds Academy at MTU, teaching modules relating to fund regulation (indicative content would include that of the UCITS and AIFMD regimes and ancillary regulations including sustainable finance regulation, AML regulations and other cognate regulations to the funds and financial services space). They will also be responsible for teaching modules relating to fund governance indicative content would include directors duties, corporate governance codes relating to funds and fund service providers, Central Bank of Ireland guidance, Central Bank of Ireland enforcement actions and ancillary regulations including sustainable finance regulation, AML regulations and other cognate governance matters relating to the funds and financial services space). The successful candidate will report to the Head of Department of Accounting & Information Systems and will be based on the Cork Campus. This line management arrangement may be amended as MTUs organisational structure evolves over time. This position will involve travel between campuses. Duties and Responsibilities of the role: The Project Manager will play an active role in the academic direction of courses including teaching, research, academic assessment and academic administration and will also be involved in duties relating to the project management of the Funds Academy, an industry engagement project to strengthen the investment funds sector in the region. The appointee should carry out such duties as are assigned by management including but not limited to: Teaching such assigned classes as deemed appropriate by management of the Munster Technological University (herein after, the University), by evening and from time to time by day if so required. Carrying out assessment, monitoring and evaluation of examinations work, and providing an academic and consultative support to students in their learning activities. Providing academic input on existing and new courses and course development and course co-ordination. Maintaining appropriate records and making available information as required by management. Engaging in promotion including student recruitment. Promoting scholarship. Participating in the development, implementation and maintenance of academic quality assurance arrangements. Participating in appropriate activities necessary to the development of their department/school and of the University. Course coordination for the funds courses being offered in 2025/2026. Engagement with key stakeholders and assisting in organisation of industry initiatives and events. Maintaining budgetary controls and appropriate records. Developing a suite of micro-credentials for MTU. Being part of the micro-credentials team as part of TSAF project including contributing to the development and promotion of new micro-credentials and working collaboratively with industry stakeholders. The performance of these duties will require attendance in addition to class contact hours during the normal working week. Qualification Requirements for the position: Essential: An Honours Level 8 undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline from a recognised degree awarding authority At least 5 years postgraduate or industry experience Proven track record in the Funds industry Must demonstrate ability to represent the organisation at a senior level to external partners or stakeholders Must be self-motivated, a skilled networker and effective communicator Practical, assertive and achievement orientated with good self-management skills Good relationship management skills A proven ability to work well in teams Ability to work on his/her own initiative to solve problems Familiarity with the usual range of office IT tools for email, document production, spreadsheets, presentations Willingness to work flexible hours, and to be adaptable in working practice, which are essential with people from a wide range of backgrounds, agencies, and sectors.
