Ornua is a leading dairy co-operative which sells premium dairy products globally on behalf of its Member Co-operatives, Ireland's dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers.Ornua has revenues of €3.4 billion and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,800 employees. The Group operates as a commercial organisation across 10 business units, including 12 production facilities located in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.The commercial organisation is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua's consumer brands including Ireland's most successful food export: Kerrygold. Consumer markets are served by production facilities in Ireland, Germany and the UK and by in-market Sales & Marketing Teams in Asia, Germany, Ireland, MEA, Poland, Spain, rest of Europe and North and Latin America.It also manages the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products, the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers globally, and the implementation of de-risking and trading strategies to manage market volatility. These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.The RoleAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Master Data Manager to lead our enterprise master data governance. In this permanent role, you will be responsible for ensuring our data is governed, trusted, consistent, and leveraged as a strategic asset across the organisation.This role reports to the Head of Data & Analytics, you will partner closely with Business Leaders, Data Stewards, Business Process Owners, IT, and wider business teams to embed best‑practice standards and drive continuous improvement in data quality and governance.If you are passionate about data excellence, cross‑functional collaboration, and building scalable data foundations that enable operational efficiency and business insight, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact.Key Responsibilities1. Master Data Governance & StrategyLead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) strategy.Maintain and enforce governance frameworks, ownership models, data standards, and common definitions.Provide guidance to Business Data Owners, Executive Entity Owners, and Data Stewards on data governance and stewardship best practice.Ensure master data considerations are embedded into business projects and transformation initiatives.2. Operational Delivery & Process ExcellenceOversee end‑to‑end master data operations, ensuring accurate and timely creation, maintenance, and retirement of key master data (product, material, customer, supplier).Lead and support the central Master Data Team to deliver consistent, high‑quality data to all business sites and functions.Maintain SLAs, workflows, and standard operating procedures to ensure compliant, controlled master data processes.Support system enhancements, ERP/CRM projects, and data readiness activities including profiling, cleansing, migration, and cutover preparation.Maintain critical commercial and supply chain data (e.g., GTINs, BOMs, lead times, MOQ, pack formats) to support planning, operations, and customer fulfilment.3. Data Quality ManagementDefine and track data quality KPIs and monitoring routines across all master data domains.Lead root‑cause analysis and drive corrective and preventative actions to improve data quality.Mediate data governance issues and ensure alignment on definitions, standards, and maintenance processes.Recommend and implement improvements to data standards, governance processes, and MDM best practices.4. Compliance, Controls & Risk ManagementMaintain master data controls aligned with audit, financial, regulatory, and data privacy requirements.Ensure master data supports traceability, sustainability, regulatory reporting, and product safety.Identify and mitigate risks associated with data processes, systems, and definitions.5. Support Business Growth, RGM & InnovationProvide structured, accurate master data to support pricing, promotions, segmentation, innovation, and market expansion.Enable new product development with timely data setup, hierarchy alignment, attribute enrichment, and regulatory data capture.6. Technology, Tools & Data EnablementPartner with IT to design, optimise, and deploy MDM platforms, workflow tools, and data quality technologies.Champion modern data governance capabilities including automation and AI‑enabled data quality checks.Support analytics, digital, and reporting initiatives relying on high‑quality master data.7.
