Overview of role:
This role facilitates and manages access to land and property required for the installation,
maintenance, inspection and associated utility infrastructure. The role requires the successful candidate to work independently to ensure that access is secured. The successful candidate will be required to secure access ensuring compliance to legislation, policy and procedures in a respectful manner, giving consideration to the needs of the utility provider with those of landowners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the mapping of properties and liaison with landowners.
* Secure access to private/public properties prior to work schedules.
* Communicate with local communities of works that will be carried out (when
applicable).
* Ensure all access activities comply with relevant legislation, such as wayleave
agreements, easements etc.
* Maintain accurate records of access agreements, consents, permits and maps.
* Identify any potential access constraints e.g. livestock, seasonal factors.
* Key point of contact for landowners and the public regarding access issues.
* Management of complaints or disputes professionally and with sensitivity.
* Actively participate with all health, safety and environment practices and
other policies and procedures relating to the Access Officer role.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience in utilities, infrastructure, land management or surveying.
* Excellent negotiation, communication and conflict resolution skills.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Familiarity with mapping tools (e.g. GIS) and site access logistics.
* Ability to work independently and travel to various field locations.
* Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbal and written.
* Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
* Full Driving Licence and willingness to travel.
Please note that this role requires considerable walking on farm land and forestry,
therefore the successful candidate will require a good level of physical fitness.
