The role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist involves delivering direct nursing care and support to individuals with disabilities, working closely with healthcare professionals and support staff. This position requires a strong clinical background, as well as experience in providing supervision and training to others.
Key Responsibilities
* Direct Nursing Care: Provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with complex needs, tailoring support to meet their unique requirements.
* Clinical Supervision: Offer guidance and mentorship to nursing staff, promoting best practice and ensuring up-to-date skills.
* Training Development: Design and deliver bespoke training programs for healthcare professionals and support staff, focusing on clinical and behaviour support topics.
Requirements
* A degree in General/RNID/Paediatric Nursing or a related field is essential, along with registration with An Bord Altranais (NMBI).
* Prior experience in challenging behaviour and behaviours of concern is crucial, as is a postgraduate qualification in nursing.
* Demonstrable knowledge of Enable Ireland's services and complexity is also required.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for success in this role.
