Fehily Timoney and Company (FT) is a leading Irish-owned consultancy with expertise in Sustainable Infrastructure, Circular Economy, Environment, and Renewables. Our services include design and contract management for infrastructure projects such as roads, greenways, active travel, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels, and gas pipelines.
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Project Manager - Highways to join our Sustainable Infrastructure team in Cork, Dublin, or Carlow. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience and a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with Chartered Engineer status. This role offers exposure to various project types, including national road delivery, greenway, and active travel projects, as well as major highways design and build schemes.
The successful candidate will lead multi-disciplinary design teams, supervise and mentor staff, prepare technical reports, and ensure compliance with quality assurance systems. They will also manage client relationships and coordinate work with other project members.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading design teams to deliver projects on time, to quality, and within budget
* Supervising and mentoring senior and junior staff within the Infrastructure sector
* Preparing technical reports and tender documents
* Planning and managing design work with engineering discipline leads and technicians
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
* Coordinating work with other project members and stakeholders
Required skills and qualifications include:
* Chartered Engineer status
* 12 years of post-graduate experience in highway and infrastructure design and project management
* Delivery of highway or greenway projects according to TII Project Management Guidelines Phases 0 to 4
* Experience in design and build projects
* Multi-disciplinary design management experience
* Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills
