We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team and work full-time with our respected utilities client.
This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across various operations within the South East
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days at home and 2 days visiting sites one week, and 2 days at home and 3 days visiting sites the next)
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct inspections and audits of contractors, suppliers, Local Authorities, and our client's facilities, reporting on findings, and checking compliance with corrective and preventative actions.
· Collaborate with colleagues to implement best practices for behavioural safety within the organisation.
· Provide guidance to our client's staff, Local Authority staff, contractors, and operators in implementing health and safety requirements.
· Generate and present reports and key regional safety metrics.
· Ensure the effective and efficient achievement of health and safety objectives and KPIs.
· Act as Incident Liaison Officer for accidents/incidents, ensuring lessons are learned and shared across the business.
· Generate quarterly HSQE communications for distribution to contractors and Local Authority direct labour crews.
· Set high standards and encourage the embedding of a HSQE culture.
· Provide guidance and specialist advice on HSQE matters to staff and contractors.
· Review existing processes around risk communication and develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
· Assist with on-site training and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Relevant third level qualifications in Health & Safety or a related field.
· Proven experience (minimum of three years) in a similar role, preferably within the utilities sector.
· Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve team goals.
· Full driving licence (minimum of category B)
