Centre Manager/Person in Charge, Listowel Respite Service
Fixed Term, Full-Time (39 hours per week) – 2 years.
Location: Listowel, Co Kerry.
Roster: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri 09:00‑17:30; Thurs 09:00‑16:30.
Role Summary
Brook Lodge provides respite to 18 individuals with moderate intellectual disability and autism. The Centre Manager/PIC leads, motivates and supervises the staff team, manages resources within budget, and ensures a person‑centred service in compliance with HIQA regulations.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the day‑to‑day service operations.
* Supervise, train and support staff and volunteers.
* Manage budget and resources in partnership with the Assistant Director of Services.
* Develop and maintain a person‑centred service for residents.
* Act as the key communicator with stakeholders: staff, residents, management, families and external providers.
* Build relationships with community groups and disability agencies.
* Ensure coordinated staff work aligned with each person’s best interests.
* Act in accordance with HIQA regulations as Person In Charge.
Essential Criteria
* Level 7 or higher qualification in Social Care, Nursing (RNID preferred) or relevant discipline; Level 8 desired.
* Formal management qualification (Level 6 minimum).
* At least three years of management or supervisory experience in the sector.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to discharge duties.
* Registered nurse or social care professional with active registration for duration of employment.
* Computer literate; proficiency in Microsoft Office and information systems.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and flexibility.
Desirable
* Post‑graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree.
* Experience with individuals having specific clinical support requirements.
Other Requirements
* Full driver’s licence and valid vehicle for Association vehicles.
* Work authorization in Ireland.
