Automotive Mechanic- Support Technician Our clients, a large automotive distributor, are looking to recruit an experienced Automotive Mechanic to provide technical support and assistance to frontline automotive mechanics across a dealer network, ensuring efficient diagnostics, quality repairs, and adherence to manufacturer standards.
The role includes remote support, training assistance, technical troubleshooting, and acting as a bridge between the dealer workshop teams and the Automotive Manufacturers.
The Role: Support dealer-based technicians in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Occasional travel to dealership sites to provide hands-on support and training Mentor dealer staff and provide updates on key findings from manufacturers briefings to the dealer teams.
Liaise with OEM technical teams to interpret bulletins, updates, and recalls.
Ensure consistent application of best practices and manufacturer repair standards across locations.
Assist in mentoring junior or less experienced technicians within the network.
Conduct technical training sessions, demonstrations, or workshops when required.
Monitor and report on recurring technical issues to inform product feedback or training needs.
Ensure that all health and safety protocols are adhered to during support visits.
The Person: Certified Automotive Technician with additional skills in Automotive Engineering, diagnostics and electrical systems.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems (engines, transmissions, suspension, electronics).
Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with OEM diagnostic tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel across the dealer network (drivers license required).
Experience working with dealership systems (DMS, technical portals) is preferred Prior experience in a support, supervisory, or master technician role an advantage Experience with a specific brand or OEM certification is advantageous.
