As a Test Engineer at Mercer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and support of the automation test strategy to ensure the delivery of high-quality software that meets user requirements. This is a hands-on role that requires working collaboratively in a squad following a Scaled Agile development methodology. You must be a self-starter, delivery-focused, and possess a broad set of technology skills. The candidate should be able to minimize the adverse impact of bugs, perform root-cause analysis, and prevent reoccurrence of issues.
We will count on you to:
* Gather and understand business requirements for both Functional and Non-Functional areas, including clear Business Acceptance criteria.
* Formulate a Test Strategy emphasizing Shift-left Test automation.
* Achieve 100% test coverage for all Functional and Non-Functional business cases, collaborating with Non-Functional Test Engineers as needed.
* Create automated Test suites for Integration, Regression, API, Data validation, and edge scenarios.
* Test AI/Gen AI business applications, demonstrating usage of Gen AI in tooling & AI-driven insights reporting, and creating/reusing AI utilities.
* Identify test cases that require manual testing.
* Work with Lead Software Engineers to define code review, unit testing, and acceptance testing strategies.
* Follow agile practices foundational to product delivery.
* Troubleshoot and resolve scripting issues.
* Log, track, and analyze defects, providing regular updates on quality metrics.
* Collaborate with Software Engineers and UAT teams to resolve bugs and quality issues.
What you need to have:
* Strong knowledge of Test Engineering, QA best practices, tools, and policies.
* Experience testing AI/Gen AI applications, utilizing AI utilities, and reporting insights.
* Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
* Proven success in delivering quality software solutions.
* Experience with Agile at Scale, Lean, and Continuous Delivery practices such as CI/CD, TDD, and Infrastructure as Code.
* Experience with Selenium, setting up Selenium environments (e.g., Eclipse, Java, WebDriverIO, TestNG).
* Knowledge of API testing is a plus.
* Familiarity with Automation Framework Design and Implementation.
* Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
* Strong self-motivation and active contribution to squads.
* Experience testing across various languages, technologies, and platforms.
Technical Skills Required:
* Proficiency in JavaScript, Playwright, and other test automation frameworks.
* Experience with MSSQL and API automation.
* Knowledge of source control systems such as Azure DevOps, TFS, GitHub.
