Financial Reporting Accountant
A Dublin-based specialist finance business is hiring a Financial Accountant to join a close-knit local finance team. This role suits a qualified accountant who enjoys strong financial control, balance sheet ownership, and working with stakeholders across Ireland and the wider group.
The role
You'll take ownership of core month-end activities, maintain robust controls, support regulatory and statutory reporting, and act as a key finance contact for audit and internal stakeholders.
Day-to-day
Run key elements of the month-end close, including preparing/posting journals and ensuring timelines are met
Own balance sheet substantiation: reconciliations, supporting schedules, investigation of variances, and clear audit trails
Partner with operational teams to validate postings, accruals, and balance movements (assets, funding, and related control accounts)
Support preparation of monthly regulatory returns and assist with quarterly reporting cycles
Prepare and maintain process documentation and controls in line with group standards
Provide analysis and commentary on movements in material balances and key cost lines
Act as a go-to contact for interim and year-end audit requests, including preparation of audit packs and supporting evidence
Support continuous improvement: identify control gaps, streamline reconciliations, and assist with finance projects / system enhancements
What you'll bring
Essential
Fully qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
Strong background in financial control, reconciliations, and month-end delivery
Experience supporting statutory accounts and working with auditors
