Psychologist – Staff Grade
We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Psychologist – Staff Grade to join our team in CHO 1 Cavan CDNT.
Contract Type: 12 month fixed term contract
Contract Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary Scale: €60,342 - €105,535 pro rata per annum
Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum
Overview of the Post
Enable Ireland delivers children’s services through the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a range of Psychologist services for young people (0 – 18 years) and their families within an interdisciplinary framework. Service will include assessment and intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development. This will be delivered through a family centred approach across a variety of settings including the clinic, preschools, schools, children’s homes and community settings.

Essential Criteria
Have a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in the subject
Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology
Or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health
Demonstrate competence in the Care Group/s applied for
For clinical or counselling psychology qualifications: have at least 60 days of supervised clinical placements or post-qualification supervised work experience in the relevant area(s)
For educational psychology qualifications: have at least 60 days of supervised clinical placements or post-qualification supervised work experience in the relevant area(s)
Must be a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS)
Applicants must be eligible to work in the state
Valid driving licence for use within the state/jurisdiction with access to own transport for service delivery across a large geographical area
Desirable Criteria
Experience of working with children and/or adolescents and their families with one or more of a range of disabilities
Knowledge and skills in management of behaviours of concern
Knowledge and skills in conducting diagnostic assessments in children and young people including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities
Knowledge of HSE Progressing Disability Services Programme
Broad knowledge of Enable Ireland Services
Experience working in a disability service
Experience in interdisciplinary team working
