APC seeks candidates with strong experience in the fundamentals and general applications of chromatography, spectroscopy, solid-state techniques and mass spectrometry in supporting small-molecule drug development.Specifically, the ideal candidate will also have a good understanding of the principles of HPLC and GC method development including column selection, gradient and mobile phase optimisation, detector choice and optimisation and method validation to ICH guidelines. Alternatively or in addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a good understanding of physical, thermal, structural, and surface properties of crystalline and amorphous API to enable informed decisions for crystallization, milling, formulation, and scale-up, ensuring product stability and compliance with critical quality attributes throughout development. Relevant analytical techniques will include particle size analysis by laser diffraction; DSC to measure thermal events and enthalpy changes; TGA to measure moisture content, residual solvents, and decomposition profiles; PXRD to identify crystalline phases and polymorphs; non-ambient PXRD to track in situ phase changes under controlled temperature and humidity and DVS to measure sorption and desorption isotherms for water and organic vapours. Finally, a demonstrated competency in the development and validation of LC–MS/MS and/or GC–MS methods for trace-level quantitation of genotoxic impurities, or other low-level analytes in complex pharmaceutical matrices as well as structural elucidation of unknowns using HRMS (Q–TOF) with targeted/untargeted MS/MS would be of interest.Purpose of the roleLead and develop a high-performing technical team, driving both operational excellence and people growth in a collaborative, science-focused environment.
