Possession Planner
This is a critical and mandatory position within all railway infrastructure projects requiring access on or near the line. The role involves planning, managing, and delivering safety arrangements within a standard engineering worksite, as well as leading and managing interface risks associated with multiple tasks and/or groups.
The Possession Planner (SWL2) is responsible for liaising with our business functions, clients, Network Rail, and third-party contractors to develop, plan, book, and deliver an access plan that meets project requirements and maintains compliance with industry standards.
We are seeking a highly skilled professional with knowledge of relevant railway geography, access capability, and train services capacity. Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and managing safety arrangements within a standard engineering worksite
* Leading and managing interface risks associated with multiple tasks and/or groups
* Reviewing interface risks associated with multiple tasks
* Responsible for de-confliction process wherever work conflicts occur
Responsibilities:
* Book worksites through the national possession planning system
* Work with Network Rail & third parties to resolve access conflicts
* Review work content with the project management team and client to ensure access plan is suitable for the task
* Ensure access requirements are planned and delivered in accordance with industry standards
Requirements:
* Degree-level education or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of relevant railway geography and access capability
* Numerate & literate
* Communication and presentation skills
