Health and Safety Advisor
Our client is a well-established Tier One Main Contractor involved in numerous projects nationwide, primarily in heavy industrial and commercial sectors located in the Midlands, Dublin, and North Leinster.
The package will be competitive, aligned with market trends, and negotiable within the range indicated in this advertisement. The role is suitable for a Quantity Surveyor based in the Midlands/East Connaught, Dublin, Kildare, or Southern Ulster.
In addition to salary, benefits include mileage, health insurance, car allowance, above-average holiday entitlement, overnight accommodation when required, and other perks. The successful candidate will report to a company H&S Director.
Key Duties
1. Implement the company's health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and management systems.
2. Assist site management in drafting and communicating method statements, Safe Plans of Action, and Toolbox Talks.
3. Provide advice, guidance, and instruction on all health & safety matters to management, EHS, safety representatives, employees, and sub-contractors where appropriate.
4. Deliver health & safety induction programmes for new employees or sub-contractors on site.
5. Conduct regular inspections and site audits, report findings to site and senior management, and ensure immediate follow-up on actions.
6. Ensure all accidents are reported, recorded, investigated, and that notifications are made to relevant authorities and insurers as required.
7. Promote a healthy, incident, and injury-free workplace.
8. Participate in the development and delivery of safety training as needed.
9. Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies on EHS aspects of daily operations.
10. Prepare Construction Plans, Safety Statements, RAMS, etc.
Skills / Experience
1. Minimum Diploma in Health and Safety Management or equivalent.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a fast-paced construction environment with a main contractor or PSCS.
3. Valid, clean driving license.
4. Strong IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
5. Excellent communication skills, team-oriented, with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
