Overview
Principal Manufacturing Engineer – A leading medical device manufacturer in Clonmel.
This is a senior technical role, providing support to manufacturing operations, driving process optimisation, and ensuring production targets are consistently met.
You will also play a key role in introducing new products and processes, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership to manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
Monitor equipment and processes, resolving issues related to non-conformance, yield, or quality.
Partner with R&D and other departments to integrate new products and processes into existing operations.
Lead and develop a high-performing team through training, mentoring, and performance management.
Contribute to the development of operational policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, BSI, EHS, etc.).
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise resources and enhance productivity.
Support budget planning and cost control through regular analysis of spending and resource allocation.
Oversee and participate in validation activities, from protocol development to execution.
Qualifications & Experience
Level 7 qualification (or higher) in a relevant discipline with 6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
Strong technical expertise with proven experience in process optimisation and problem-solving.
Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience managing and developing technical teams.
Excellent organisational, planning, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of working within a regulated manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on compliance and quality systems.
