About The Role:
The Network Software, Services, and Automation (NSSA) team builds software, services, and frameworks which are used by our customers - X's Network Engineers - to deploy, operate, and monitor X's global network infrastructure. Our products span across all the aspects of network management: metric collection, configuration management & deployment, zero-touch provisioning, network monitoring, and alarming & auto-remediation, among others.
In this role, you will have a major impact on the architectures and designs of distributed software systems enabling X network engineering teams to deploy, monitor and operate X's global network at scale. You will be driving automation software design and implementation, collaborating within and across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with network engineers to understand their requirements and use cases
* Translate customer requirements into scalable, robust, and future-proof software solutions
* Prototype, design, and implement software systems
* Write clear, concise, maintainable, and performant code
* Develop and maintain quality technical and non-technical documentation
* Operationally support, troubleshoot, and improve the software systems our team has built
* Mentor and support fellow engineers
* Multiply the effectiveness of the team by providing code and design reviews, setting the bar for quality high, and defining the team's software development best practices
You Should Have:
* 4+ years of professional software development experience
* Strong computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures background
* Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming language
* Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for software development life cycles
* Experience with business-critical distributed large-scale systems
* Strong desire for learning and growth
* Enjoy interacting with and helping internal customers
* Experience with network engineering, developing network automation, network controllers, or building automation systems for infrastructure is not required but would be beneficial
