Job Description
The Senior Orthoptist will work in a collaborative environment to provide high-quality care to patients. They will be responsible for conducting orthoptic assessments and treatments, as well as participating in research and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinical/Professional:
o Operate within the scope of practice as defined by the British and Irish Orthoptic Society (BIOS) and the Irish Association of Orthoptists (IAO).
o Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics, and legislation.
* Educational and Training:
o Participate in mandatory training programs.
o Develop protocols, patient care plans, goal setting, and outcome measures.
* Health and Safety:
o Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and safe professional practices.
* Administrative:
o Participate in service improvements.
o Undertake any reasonable administrative duties as agreed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Orthoptics or equivalent qualification.
* Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) or equivalent registration body.
* Three years full-time post-qualification clinical experience.
