Knowledge Lawyer - Dispute Resolution Specialist
The Role
We are seeking a seasoned knowledge lawyer to work primarily with our Dispute Resolution Group. This role involves collaborating closely with other knowledge lawyers and reporting directly to the Head of the Knowledge Team. A primary focus will be on litigation and dispute resolution, with potential involvement in other practice areas as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing, maintaining, and updating template documents and precedents (court-related and otherwise).
- Monitoring ongoing developments in law, regulation, and practice relevant to litigation and dispute resolution.
- Delivering timely updates and briefings, and facilitating training (including workshops, lectures, and accredited events) for practitioners and clients.
- Contributing to the management and development of overall knowledge resources.
- Assisting practitioners in researching legal queries and formulating advice on complex legal and regulatory matters.
- Drafting notes and other material for an online legal current awareness service.
- Preparing client briefings and public-domain publications to maintain a strong market profile.
- Leading and contributing to client presentations.
- Working on specific knowledge projects related to legal resources, research, know-how, and education.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years post-qualification experience with a particular focus on litigation or other forms of dispute resolution, ideally with a leading law firm or in independent practice.
- Strong proficiency in drafting legal materials, with a strong technical and academic interest in the highlighted areas.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills and a keen interest in developing the profile of knowledge services.
- An ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making, with a proven ability to manage and complete projects.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A strong interest in developing, maintaining, and sharing legal and regulatory knowledge (including through training).
- A strongly positive attitude and will be a good team player.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management skills, the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A high degree of discretion and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- A positive and proactive attitude, a willingness and ability to take ownership and responsibility for tasks, and the ability to take and demonstrate initiative.
Requirements:
- Hold at least a 2.1 honours degree in any discipline.
- Be qualified as a solicitor or barrister in Ireland, Northern Ireland, or England and Wales.
