Director of Finance Plc Position Description An exciting finance leadership role with plenty of runway within one of Ireland largest and fastest growing Plcs. Key focus: Providing strategic leadership across commercial finance & financial reporting teams Supporting the CFO and SLT with financial strategy development and execution, representing the CFO function in strategic forums and providing key decision support to the CFO and SLT Preparing Board reports for the CFO, assisting with Board activities and ensuring continued excellence in Board-level financial reporting, governance and stewardship Providing strategic oversight and direction to the finance team, leading the delivery of first-class Financial Reporting and Commercial Finance functions in order to support executive decision making and external stakeholder confidence Evaluation of strategic initiatives such as investment opportunities, JVs and funding structures Oversight over tax strategy and compliance, risk assessment and management, treasury management, banking relationships, liquidity and ensuring appropriate systems, processes and controls are in place, leading change initiatives where required Driving financial performance, governance and stakeholder engagement across the business and contributing to enterprise-wide initiatives Bridging the gap between financial functions and other business departments to foster growth, efficiency, and alignment with company goals. Candidate Background Ideal candidate will have the following background: Qualified Accountant, with an excellent academic and career track record to date (Big 4 training, followed by progressive roles in Financial Reporting and Commercial Finance) Strong leadership, influencing, stakeholder management, and commercial and strategic management capabilities. Excellent technical accounting expertise Ability to demonstrate a collaborative leadership style Experience of thriving within a finance leadership role in a fast-scaling and/or entrepreneurial organisation A high level of emotional intelligence, ability to get on well with colleagues up and down within the business, and excellent influencing skills and a strong communication style Experience in construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure beneficial, ideally within a Plc environment About our Client Our client is one of Ireland largest and fast-growing PLCs.
