My client a leading public sector organisation based in Belfast is currently seeking a Full-Time Ophthalmic Science Practitioner. Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm Pay: £15.33 per hour Job Summary / Main Purpose The post-holder will work as an integral member of multi-disciplinary ophthalmology team and will be responsible for providing ophthalmic diagnostic and imaging services. Main Duties / Responsibilities Be responsible for providing ophthalmic diagnostic and imaging services to include the following image capture and testing procedures: Colour Retinal Fundus Photography Ocular Photography Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Visual Fields Be responsible for the setting up and smooth running of screening, diagnostic and imaging clinics. Ensure that patients attending clinics are adequately prepared by providing relevant information about the procedures being undertaken. Be responsible for the safety and welfare of patients attending clinics at all times. Have sufficient knowledge of a range of diagnostic and imaging tests to be able to decide on the most appropriate test for a particular patient. Be responsible for producing high quality images and reliable results and to recognise and rectify testing situations which may affect the validity of result. Maintain appropriate records and work to good clinical practice principles. Undertake administrative duties as necessary. Perform any other reasonable duties within the general ambit of the post and the competence of the post-holder.
