Project Planner (Residential Construction)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Planner to support the successful delivery of residential construction projects across Dublin and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project programmes, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and in accordance with client, commercial, and operational requirements.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a growing construction team involved in high-quality residential developments ranging from apartment schemes to large-scale housing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed project schedules and programmes from pre-construction through to project completion.
Create baseline programmes using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly to reflect actual performance.
Identify programme risks, delays, and critical path activities, proposing mitigation measures where necessary.
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Design Teams to ensure programme alignment.
Produce short-term and long-term planning reports for internal and client stakeholders.
Assist with tender planning, methodology development, and programme submissions.
Track project milestones, resource requirements, and key deliverables.
Prepare recovery programmes when required and support delay analysis.
Attend project meetings and provide planning updates and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and project controls processes.
Requirements
Essential
3–10+ years' experience in project planning, construction planning, or project controls.
Experience working on residential construction projects, including housing developments, apartments, or mixed-use schemes.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and project lifecycles.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documentation.
Full eligibility to work in Ireland.
Desirable
Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Experience working for a main contractor or residential developer.
Knowledge of delay analysis and earned value management.
Membership of a relevant professional body.
