Our client is a leading advisory & accounting firm working with ambitious domestic and overseas businesses in Ireland.
The Role
They are looking to hire a Tax Director to work with their tax team on variety of consultancy projects.
Tax Director
The roles involves and working on tax based consultancy projects and responsibility for managing the firm's income and corporation tax compliance function.
Consultancy
The successful candidate will work closely with the tax consulting partner on project-based work, with exposure to international tax assignments.
The role is varied and involves
The research and preparation of technical tax memos
Assisting with the management and implementation of projects such as –
1. Hive outs Insertion of personal holding companies Employee incentive schemes Tax Due Diligence reports Succession planning Company incorporations and FDI advice
Compliance
The role is divided between consultancy and compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the firm's compliance operations to ensure that returns are managed and filed on time.
During busy compliance periods the role will include the review of income tax and corporation tax returns.
The role will also support the compliance team by being a technical resource able to research tax related queries on the availability of allowances and reliefs and the correct tax treatment of various transactions.
The role offers excellent opportunity for development to partner level as the practice has strong plans for expansion.
Experience and Qualifications
2. The candidate should be AITI CTA qualified with at least five years' PQE.
3. An accounting qualification is desirable but not essential.
4. The role will be client facing and would suit a candidate with good commercial acumen.
5. In depth knowledge and experience in interpreting Tax Legislation, relevant commentary and case law
6. Ability to work to deadlines
7. Excellent organisational and planning capabilities
8. Dealing with ad-hoc Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, CGT, VAT and Stamp Duty queries to include excellent technical experience across all tax heads
9. Self-motivated with a desire to analyse and solve client issues in a proactive and practical manner with the objective of identifying the best solutions
