About the Opportunity
Are you a solicitor with ambition, experience and an entrepreneurial mindset? Have you ever imagined running your own practice with a ready made client base and the backing of two experienced partners?
We are a well-established two-partner general practice firm with a proud 35-year history of providing trusted legal services to a strong and diverse client base. As both partners approach retirement, we are seeking a Solicitor to join our team with a view to taking over the practice as the sole Equity Partner over the next few years as part of a thoughtful and gradual transition.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an ambitious experienced solicitor looking to take the next step in their career, with the long-term goal of taking full control of a profitable, reputable, and well-run practice. You will be stepping into a practice with real clients and consistent work from day one. With a solid foundation already in place, there is scope to modernise, expand or evolve the practice to match your vision.
The Role
You will work closely with the current partners to ensure a smooth transition of leadership and client relationships. Over the coming years, you will assume increasing responsibility for managing the practice, shaping its strategic direction, and positioning it for continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality legal services across a general practice (with a focus on conveyancing, probate and personal injury being advantageous)
* Build and maintain strong client relationships
* Manage staff and day-to-day operations
* Lead and support business development initiatives
* Drive efficiencies and modernisation (e.g. through IT systems)
* Work towards full succession and eventual full ownership/management of the firm
The Ideal Candidate:
You might be a senior associate ready for the next step or already a partner elsewhere looking for a new challenge with more autonomy. What matters most is that you are ambitious, people oriented and excited by the idea of owning and running a successful legal business.
The ideal candidate will have
* Approximately 7+ years' experience in general practice
* Strong client-facing skills and commitment to excellent client service
* Demonstrated ability to manage files and contribute to firm management
* Entrepreneurial mindset with ambition to lead and grow a legal practice
* Experience in conveyancing, pronate or personal injury law is an advantage but we are willing to upskill the right candidate.
