Project Leader Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Project Leader to join our team in Ireland.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent the appointed Authority's interests in civil infrastructure project contracts.
* Coordinate with delivery teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective project management.
* Oversee contract budgeting, resource deployment, and reporting.
* Define, track, and report on delivery milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to support contract delivery and strategic objectives.
* Ensure governance, risk management, and controlled milestone delivery.
* Apply oversight and expert judgment, seeking independent assurance as needed; mitigate significant risks/issues.
* Maintain alignment with project strategies and governance structures.
* Promote continuous improvement and lean practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
* Exercise delegated authority for project decisions within governance limits.
* Deliver programme outcomes within agreed baselines and tolerances.
* Manage multidisciplinary teams and support resource allocation for programme efficiency.
* Review and challenge contractor forecasts when appropriate.
* Foster a strong safety culture across the programme.
* Clarify stakeholder management and communication responsibilities in line with broader strategies.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
* A minimum of 15 years' experience in programme delivery, with at least 10 years' senior management experience.
* A proven track record of leading delivery across infrastructure programmes of significant size and complexity.
* Relevant qualifications, such as a Bachelor's degree (Honours) in engineering, construction, or project management.
* Desirable: Chartered member of a relevant professional body, e.g., Chartered Engineer, Chartered Project Professional, or Programme Management Professional.
* Experience in managing complex high-value metro and/or rail projects, including tunnelling or rail systems installation and commissioning.
* Tangible experience of documenting best practice delivery, policies, and standards.
* Ability to deal with various stakeholders at all levels, influencing process improvements and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
