About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Field Engineer to lead our engineering services across Ireland.
You'll play a key role in delivering and maintaining vehicle technology systems, managing field engineers and subcontractors, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys travel, problem‑solving, and leading high‑performing technical teams.
While Dublin is the primary operational hub due to vehicle volumes, regular travel across Ireland, including Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford and other regions, will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a small team of field engineers and subcontractors nationwide
Oversee hardware/software installation and maintenance on public transport vehicles
Plan and schedule site work, resources, and stock logistics
Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues
Manage supplier and subcontractor performance
Ensure health & safety, compliance, and documentation standards are met
Report progress and risks to the NTA Operations Manager
Travel across Ireland regularly, with occasional UK and international travel
What We're Looking For
Senior‑level experience in field engineering, ideally in transport or tech infrastructure
Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background (automotive experience ideal)
Skilled in team leadership and field service operations
Experience working with third‑party vendors and subcontractors
Confident using tools like Jira and Confluence
Highly organised, with strong communication and reporting skills
Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel
Relevant qualifications or certifications in engineering, ITIL, or Lean (desirable)
