Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinically focused and motivated pharmacist to join the clinical pharmacy team at Raigmore Hospital. The role will support pharmacy activities across medical, oncology, surgical, women & children services and will involve rotations in gastroenterology, respiratory, general surgery, acute medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, haematology, critical care, paediatrics, neonates, renal and care of the elderly.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical pharmacy support across a range of specialties, with rotations agreed to suit training and service needs.
Assist in the training and development of pharmacy students, trainees, junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
Support pharmacy education initiatives, including training of the wider multidisciplinary team and medical/nursing staff.
Participate in quality improvement projects, audits and governance groups such as the Area Drug and Therapeutics Committee sub‑groups.
Work under supervision and collaborate with lead pharmacists and other pharmacy team members.
Contribute to the development of clinical skills in areas such as rheumatology, neurology, dermatology, antimicrobials, maternity, diabetes/endocrinology and high dependency units.
Be available for emergency on‑call, weekend and public holiday rotations.
Qualifications
Registered pharmacist with a Masters Degree in Pharmacy and relevant post‑registration experience.
Desired post‑graduate qualifications include a Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy and Independent Prescribing.
Experience in any area of pharmacy is valued; no prior clinical specialty experience is required.
Strong communication, team working, problem‑solving and prioritisation skills.
